About me

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Massachusetts (UMASS), Lowell. I also hold an adjunct appointment at Harvard University, where I'm affliated with the Department of Biomedical Informatics. I joined UMASS, Lowell after completing Postdoctoral fellowships at Harvard University (Zaklab) and the University of Maryland (CLIP lab). I received my Ph.D. in Computer Science from the National University of Singapore (NGS, LMS) and my M.Eng. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Tehran (DBRG).

My research centers on computational models for understanding human language–an AI-complete problem–and on the translation of these models into solutions for key problems in healthcare including diagnostic decision-making.

More information can be found in my CV.
