Touch Sensor for Handy Cricket

Part Listing

The Cricket's sensor inputs can be used with simple contact switches. To build a touch sensor for the Cricket, get the following parts:

  • Contact switch. A simple push-button type like the one shown below is ideal.

  • One 3-position "DF3" plug for Cricket sensor port.

  • Two wires with pre-crimped "DF3" connector.

  • Three pieces 3/32" heat shrink.

The drawing below shows how the touch sensor assembly is constructed. Please note that the wires are inserted into the outer two of three positions of the connector header:
