I've found two good sources of small motors (really small), one is the laser moving mechanism in dead CD-ROM drives, and the other is the cassette eject mechanism of microcassette drives. MP Jones and Assoc has small cassette transports with these motors in them for $5 each. You'll need a small tip phillip's head screw driver to disassemble them. I also bought CD-ROMS from HSC Supply in Santa Clara that had small motors and a lead screw mechanisms. Since these are both surplus places I'd suggest that a local surplus shop, or any of the advertisers in Nuts & Volts might be similarly stocked. Unfortunately they aren't good "regular" suppliers since when they run out of stock it can be months before they find any more. --Chuck
