Here is our 1-page session proposal.
UMass Lowell has a campus-wide site now http://www.wiki.uml.edu
- We held a 4 hour training in January 2008
- Now there are dozens of sites and more than 150 users
Top 6 Reasons to Use Wikis:
1. It's easy to create a simple web site
- Undergraduate Art Appreciation
- TEAMS Academy - On first day, gave 15 minutes of wiki instruction to students (limit of instructor's knowledge!). Result: http://www.cs.uml.edu/teams-academy
- Trust your students - Don & Fred give students full access - let THEM drive design!!
2. Student collaborate on team projects (and can share with public)
- TEAMS Academy Assistive Technology Projects
- TEAMS Academy Egg Hunt Competition
- Software Engineering / Game Design class
3. Faculty collaboration in course development
- Artbotics with Holly Yanco (CS), Fred Martin, (CS) and Hyun Ju Kim (Art)
- Radical Design with Georges Grinstein, Sarah Kuhn, and Fred Martin
4. Blog of classroom activity & class management
- TEAMS Academy Robotics and Electronics
- An undergraduate software engineering course
- TEAMS Academy Home Page/Calendar
