Traditional music theory and composition, jazz/pop theory, sound synthesis, and acoustics. Recent teaching assignments have included traditional and jazz theory, computer programming for sound recording technology, basic keyboard skills, and directing jazz ensembles.
University of Massachusetts/Amherst: Ed.D (1980). Instructional Leadership Program. Thesis project was a computer-based self-instructional system for learning the fundamentals of music.
Brandeis University: M.F.A., Music Theory-Composition (1967). Studied music theory and composition with Harold Shapero, Arthur Berger, and Seymour Shifrin.
Rutgers - The State University: B.A., Music (1964). Studied music theory, music history, and musical composition. Major instrument was piano.

· Served as Undergraduate Coordinator and chaired the Computer Science undergraduate committee (1986-1992)
· Served as Graduate Coordinator in Computer Science (1995-1999).
· Served as Graduate Coordinator and chair of the graduate committee in the Music Department (2001-2002).
· Served as thesis advisor for DSc. and MS candidates in Computer Science and for MMEd. candidates in Music
