Patrick,
   I saw your list of sub-9:00 HS two mile times a while ago, and here's 
one that wasn't on it at the time:

Ralph King of St. Pius X High School in Atlanta, Georgia (where I went to 
high school!) ran 8:55.9 for two miles in 1974.  This is a state of 
Georgia record.  I am sure about the 8:55 part and I am almost 100% sure 
about the .9 part.  
     King also ran 4:06.9 for 1 mile in 1974, another state record.  I 
chased these school records futilely for 4 years  :) .
