Mincard:MaxCard Notation (2)
Modern notation includes both MinCard and Max Card at each end of a binary relation.
E.g., [Parent]ɘ:2--------------0:M>[Child]
- ( 0:2 because we assume children can be orphans.)
When both MInCard and MaxCard are specified at each end, 2:M expands to 0:2::0:M in CDIF, or [0..1]:[[0..M] in UML.
- MinCard:MaxCard::Mincard:MaxCard is confusing (CDIF).
- [MinCard..MaxCard]::[Mincard:MaxCard] is better (UML).
