I updated gen_defines.c to make pr_add call  gen_pr_add again.
THen I reran make and rebuilt bde. 
Result; btidx duplicate declares TBFixed in bde/pr_util (and genv11?)

Update 981212: shell proc 'build' will generate chgen_release_date.c
and is called from the build label in Makefile.
Chgen now builds on alpha hosts (thanks to Mark Aldred).

The following files are used to generate lut.c and lut.h
when building genv8. 
They are used to generate the real lut.* by executing 
'make gen_lut'. Cflow won't work on genv8source unless 
this is done first.

ADDED 95/1/5 by RJL:
chgen will not run on alpha machines - integer size problems.
This means bde's Makefiles can't run on alpha either,
since they rebuild pr_util by running chgen on the host
machine of the compiler (alpha in this case).
