$PH/COOL-BDE/bde2java2/bin/aareadme ------------------ I ran this applet tonite - RJL 040223 I did not change policy to permit local saving. The WinXP file menu permits printing bde2java2 GUI window bitmap. --------------- Place the files Bde2Java2.html and BdeClient.jar in the same directory and openBde2Java2.html in a Web browser (IE 5+ will work, others are not verified) in order to run the Bde2Java applet. You must have the Sun JRE1.3.x Plugin or a similar JRE installed for the applet to run properly. If it is not installed and an Internet connection is available, the Bde2Java2.html page will attempt to locate the plugin from Sun's Website and install it for you. In order to interact with the filesystem in applet mode, you must make modifications to your JRE's java.policy file. Examples of the necessary modifications can be found in the FinalReport.txt document in $CASE/02f522/bdejavaProj/. See $CASE/02f522/bdejavaProj/doc/user_guide.txt for hints on applet protection overrides and bde user guide text version and bde2java2 current functionality status.
