cvscheckins.hlp: last rev 96/6/21 - RJL

Subject: cvs import of gen/ver_8 tonight. (need $Log: bde.cc,v $ yet)

I tested the Loginfo comment in lut.c and lut.h. It worked- RJL

ALso needed: TAG ver_8 in the repository as ver_8.

  After I had imported the gen_ver_8 files (binaries and .ps and all :()
  Then I spent time removing binary and .ps files.
  I had trouble with rm then cvs remove then cvs ci on these.
  I did not test rebuilds of the executables. That is TBD.
  ver_8 exec's are under 300K except one in ver_8/src that 
  was over 600K and is now gzipped. (?)
 
  No mail came to me on a couple updates - so I guess I'll have 
 to add the cvs label line to each file :(
 E.g. $Log: bde.cc,v $ in file bde.cc. (How to get sed to do this ?)
I did this in lut.* and it worked. Use them as a guide.
 
Rev. 96/6/21: I renamed gen/base to gen/oldbase and removed the CVS
subdirys. Then I copied gen/ver_8 to gen/chgen for a new checkin.
Purpose: to overlay successive gen verions into gen/chgen
and do cvs merging (reload/update/checkin) of src, doc, and test.
