I ran KYang's Applet via the link from here to $CASE/04f522/kyang/bde2java.
The window has links at top to Home.html [?], API (javaDocs),
and Documents:

It required username and passwd plus and host (port was not required).

I ran it and I created and resized a circle node.
I set Node Shape to Rect and deleed the Circle and tried to create a Rect node.
After Node Delete, NodeShape reset to Circle instead of staying put at Rect.
So I tried to create a Rect and got a Circle instead.
(Delete Node should NOT cause NodeShape to revert to Circle default).
Node Restyle will change a node's shape to whatever Shape is selected.
(Circle is treated as Ellipse - node width and height are preserved.
Circle is restyled as a square Rect. Node.)
Caption Create Move Delete Resize work well. Restyle is a No-Op.
Link Create works; Bendpt Move works for endpoints, holding new position.
Two links with sane 2 endpts do show up, because one has a mid-link bendpt
which is automatically offset. This occurs regardless of link directions.
Node coords. are [0..1]-based. No Good.
Text Create works (Slowly). The Text Dialog box may be hidden so look for it.
While hidden, it APPEARS that no more text can be added anywhere.
It takes a few seconds for text to show up. (text color is RED).
When I tried File Save, it opened my PC's My Doc'ts folder.
I think I saved it OK (more than once ,
after I aded 3 comment lines /*...*/ ),
but an 03f file now has the same content.
Saved to my PC's
public_html\COOL-BDE\bde2java\bde2java04fTest{a,b}050319.{dat,txt}
and in bde2javaTest2HG031223.bde. (All 050319.2203-2211).
Now I can't open newly saved files in MSWord; it complains: (from uSoft Visual Basic):
"Run-time errpr '91' : Object variable or With bock variable not set"
I tried extensions .bde and .dat.
When I renamed it to .txt, this is what was in file

Another file bde2java04fTestc050319.bde in same folder had this content:

The only file that looks like a bde.dat file is bde2java04fTestb050319.txt.
But this was a copy of bde2javaTest2HG031223.bde with possibly spurious
extra elements,probably saved by a button click mistake .
BOTH files had the pre-04f522 error of normalized to [0..1]
node x,y,w,h coordinates which KYang fixed in 04f522.
