Course requirements

Tests (about 40%) are tentatively scheduled for Monday, October 16, Monday, November 13, and Wednesday, December 6. The final will be scheduled by the University.

Programming assignments (about 45%). The first assignments will introduce you to Java, Swing, and basic 2D graphics features of Java. The next few assignments will have you implement some basic 3D functionality on top of the 2D Java tools. The last two assignments will require you to use the new Java 3D API to implement a simple application. See the assignment details and programming environments page for more details.

Literature reviews (about 15%). You will write 3 short papers (4-5 pages) that will each summarize and compare two recent papers from the graphics literature. See literature review document for more details.
