I have put a gzipped tar file ``gcc11-386bsd.tar.z'' in the
cher.media.mit.edu:pub/miniboard/incoming directory.

This tar file contains gcc 6811 executables for the 386BSD version
of Unix.  (As usual, remember to use BINARY mode when you FTP).

Once you get it, install it as follows.

cd /usr/local
gunzip < gcc-386bsd-6811.tar.z | tar xf -

This will create

Note that bin/as11 is a link to lib/gcc-lib/m6811-local/2.3.3/as
and bin/gcc11 is a link to bin/gcc-m6811-local.

This is a straight port of COACTIVE's gcc + Serge Boentges's
changes.  So read Serge's & COACTIVE's notes on limitations and
such.

You can install the executables called by gcc11 in a directory
other than /usr/local/lib/gcc-lib.  If you do do this, remember to
use -B or GCC_EXEC_PREFIX as I indicated in my previous mail.
Note that you only need to specify directory prefix upto gcc-lib
(if necessary, gcc will prepend m6811-local/2.3.3/ on its own).

Try it out with Serge's light_show.c program!  Compile it as

gcc11 -o light_show.s19 -c light_show.c
