To comment on one aspect, "Reference Books aimed at 5-10 year olds"

ISTE publishes a couple of titles, LCSI Logo furnishes boxed materials
with their PC version of LogoWriter, "Logo Exchange" quarterly newsletter
has lots of suggestions from teachers of children of all ages. But my
view is that it is YOU, not your children, who need the reference book.
Logo, by its very nature, is not a language which children should learn
from a book, no matter how "high quality." It's a language they should
pick up by experimenting under the guidance of a teacher who know the
language thoroughly and also knows the capabilities and interests of
his/her individual children.
