We just got the Object Logo Student Edition package for the Macintosh
for our soon to be 9 year old. He's gotten through most of the 1st
chapter on his own, but then got stuck and his eyes glazed over when
it started talking about Cartesian coordinates.

His style is sort of early-teenager. He does not listen to advice well
but rather has to experience things himself. As a result, we are
trying to take a very hands-off approach to his learning Logo. He will
willingly read books but is less likely to learn by listening to us
ramble on.

So I think what we need is a book that's geared towards his age level
that introduces concepts as they are first mentioned without
presupposing he's already had algebra. Is there anything out there
that rings a bell? If so, reply to me. I can summarize if there's
interest.

By the way, this Logo looks to be very well done (from a Logo-naive
person's vantage point) and was a great bargain at $35.

Thanks,

	Allan Doyle
