Good morning. Are you house bound? Do anything you can from the previous day that you have not yet done. Let me know.

a) Read the next 30 pages of Lyddie. If you do not have a copy of Lyddie and you are snowbound and cannot obtain one, then read the first half of Flatland online. It is free online. The first half is somewhat dry, but stay with it. See the link for Flatland given above.

b) Complete page 2 of the Fall 2009 Computing I final.

c) Watch the movie, It's a Wonderful Life.

d) If you have a copy of Esakov and Weiss, go to my Computing II website. Download Homework 1 and do it. If you do not have Esakov and Weiss then work on HomeworkGTK1. The link to this is also given on Computing II website.

e) Watch an episode of the The Waltons. It is currently playing on the INSP channel. If you do not have access to this channel perhaps your local library has DVDs of it. It is also likely that Netflix has it too.  If you cannot find it, let me know.

f) Take a look at my list of The First Dozen Reads given below. Email me what, in this list, you have and have not read. You need to be able to discuss these books with me. So, if you read one a long time ago and it is not very fresh in your mind, consider reading it again. You should know who wrote it, who are the major characters, when the book was written, where it is set, etc. We are going to make sure that all of you have read Lyddie first. Have you?

g) Take a look at my list of The First Dozen Movies to Watch given below. Email me what, in the list, you have and have not watched. You need to be able to respond to my questions concerning each movie. So, if you have not seen it recently and it is not fresh in your mind, then you will read to watch it again as we tick them off.

h) Go back and review problems 26-30. Make them look perfect. Add them to your packet of "now perfect" solutions.

i) Read and recite the first stanza of Casey at the Bat to a family member. At first, you are allowed to read it, but I want you be able to recite it without reading it.

j) Download Dr. Scheme onto your laptop.

a) I very much want you to watch The Sound of Music. You need to know this movie. Julie Andrews gave the world 7 octaves. If you do not know this movie well, you need to remove that hunk of rust off of your back.

b) Do Homework 2 from my Computing II website.

c) Either read 30 more pages of Lyddie (first choice) or read the second half of Flatland.

d) Read the Introduction to the The Elements of Style. Not the foreward, the Introduction.

e) You should obtain No Fear Grammar and read the Intro and Chapter 1. Do the exercises.

f)  Go back and review problems 31-35. Make them look perfect. Add them to you packet of "now perfect" problems. You should be able to do these problems without help and without your book open.

g) If you have The Little Schemer, read chapter 1. If you do not, please get it. A copy of it could be in your hometown library.

h) Complete as many of the tasks from the previous days that you have not yet accomplished.

i) Go to this link:   and watch the video. El Kabong.

j) In what movie would you find the phrase, "Don't get caught watchin' the paint dry" ? If you do not know off the top of your head, googling is allowed.
