New procps
I maintain procps. It includes
the only known /bin/ps to support BSD, SysV, and Gnu syntax all at
the same time. It requires Linux. This one works; the Red Hat one
is broken in many ways.
Graph of ext2 filesystem limits
This image shows the limits imposed by
triple-indirect blocks, inode counters, and the API as functions
of the block size. The 2 GB limit has been removed.
