1. Using the simple tooll above, Recreate the 5 truss problems from the packet to check your answers. Cut and paste the results into word and create a two-page solution that looks like the last twop pages of the packet above (3 trusses per page). Be sure your name and date are included in the document (or I will assume you copied from someone else an not give you credit).
2. For the two trusses that are taller and shorter, you must first work out the coordinates of the nodes using geometry & trigonometry as we did in class. Staple this work to your solutions summary.
You should already know the answers to these 2 questions...
  • True or False: As long as the truss is geometrically similar, the internal forces should be the same.
  • True or False: If you scale all the external forces by 100, all of the internal forces will be scaled by the same factor.
