Orientation Feedback![]() Orientation Photos! Home? | I thought that the orientation was well done. The presentation was good, the time was managed effectively and we were told all that we needed for the new year. I just wish we had some maps for the campus.
The orientation was well done in general. It ran smoothly and the ice-breakers were useful in getting to know each other. However, I gained almost no sense of orientation from the quick walk around campus. I'm still not entirely sure where the Environmental Biotechnology lab is.
I thought the orientation was well done and all of my questions were answered. I enjoyed the ice-breaker activities as well. I suggest that more time be allowed for the tour because we didn't see the inside of Olsen at all.
I thought the orientation was really well-thought out and included a lot of information. The only thing I would suggest is letting us see all the different labs and let us meet our teachers.
I liked the Orientation in general. The introduction was infromative, people were friendly, and the group activities and games that we played allowed us to relax and get to know one another. The food was delicious, however, I was dissapointed in the shortage in food, and the smallness of the plates.
I thought that the orentation was great! Props to the UMass Lowell girls who ran the icebreakers. I agree with Mike, though, that the tour should have been longer. I also wish that the teachers had been introduced to us.
The orientation was good fun, seeing all the new people with an excited high. The UMass Lowell orientation leaders were really ethusiastic and welcoming. However, I would have enjoyed more icebreaker activities because I did not remember that many names from the orientation. Half the tour was taken up by walking to the cafeteria.
Yeah, I have to agree with most of the above - the orientation was fun, and the food was good (though I don't think those spring rolls went over very well). It was nice to have some icebreaker activities, and to give us a head start on learning names, but a little more time for us to learn our way around would be nice - I don't think we went to Olsen at all, maybe just had it pointed out. Going to the cafeteria was basically useless, as I don't think we're going to have time to go there anyways.
Um...not much really more to add, just to reiterate
I completely agree with everything Jon just said. However, I think we should have had more time to sit and talk with people and get to know them a little better before the first day. After all even though they were fun, the only thing we really learned about each other from the ice breaker was what we'd take if we were stranded on a desert island. But other than that I thought it was a lot of fun.
I agree with Chris, the tour should have gone into Olsen instead of showing us the cafeteria that we never have time for. The food was really good, and overall the orientation was worth while and useful.
I also agree with Jon. It would have been better if we had gone to Olsen so that we knew where we would be going for classes rather than just knowing the building. Orientation was very informative and exciting, playing the games outside was fun, but I didn't know anybody's name. Overall, the orientation went well and the few bumps can be easily smoothed out.
I really enjoyed the orientation. I thought there was helpful information for both parents and students without being too overwhelming. I didn't see the point in being taken to the cafeteria haha, because as Mike said, I feel that we should have gotten a tour of Olsen instead. One thing I would have added in is another activity to get to know everyone. Although we had some ice-breakers, they weren't very personal, and it just took a few classes for everyone to get to know names and become friends.
Pretty much all my questions were answered so i consider that successful.
