My idea for the project is to have a traffic light set up a certain distance away from a starting line. The traffic light would be hooked up to a remote and the instructor can press the buttons to turn on the green, red, or yellow lights. The rider would have the horse walk or trot if the color is green, slow down at yellow, and stop at red. We could make a circuit that would connect each of the lights to a button on a remote, so that the instructor can walk alongside the rider, or we can let the traffic light run on it's own timer. Since THE Farm works with a wide range of disabilities, including blindness, we could also have a windchime set up on a motor to shake so the rider can hear it and stop.
