PBNJIntroLettererrr i can't get it to attach correctly To whom this may concern, I, Don Rhine, run a program at UMass Lowell called TEAMS Academy. This program consists of courses in various engineering fields, one of which being Assistive Technology. In this project-oriented Assistive Technology course, students receive an introduction to the field of electronics and the ways it can be used to help others. I currently have thirty-two high-school students taking this course. Three of my students—Jennifer Shields, Philip Bailey, and Nikhil Nathwani— will interview a young client and learn what errands this client finds particularly taxing. Then, using what they learn in the Assistive Technology course, these students will fabricate a device to assist this client with an errand he/she would like help with. This fabrication will continue over the course of this semester under my supervision. Jen, Phil, and Nikhil are interested in entering the Assistive Technology Design Fair to display their device. I hope that you will reserve a spot in the fair for these three diligent high-school students. Sincerely, Don Rhine |
