LisaBaumoelLab5Lisa Baumoel Lab 5 Wall Following 1/13/07 Blue Cohort SummaryThis program uses a series of if statements to follow along the outside edge of the wall and any obstructions in its way. It starts when the user presses the play button, and has a safe mode so it will not go over cliffs, rweeun into objects, or continue moving when picked up. The short distance values along the side are also displayed on the cricket display. The program was successful in execution; it was able to follow the wall at a fairly consistent distance and the various objects in the hall as well. It did bump into the wall a few times, but whenever it did it would immediately correct itself by backing up and turning. There were some interesting interations between the robot and some of the other robots. At a few points they seemed to be battling it out to try and pass each other, with my robot usually coming out on top, and once one had passed the other it would find the wall again and continue. Overall, this lab provided much experience and information into using external distance sensors effectively. |
