JCGIRDoor

IR Sensor Door Lock

The main concept behind this solution is that two IR sensors will determine whether or not the door is closed. One sensor will be placed on the door and one will be placed on the door frame; when the door is closed they aline and the door is known to be closed. To remind her to lock the door, several beeps will sound from a small audio device mounted near the door. A simple push switch will be placed inside the doorframe itself to determine that the door has been locked. So that she is aware that she has locked the door, a small led mounted on the lock will light up, and the audio device will make a different sound.

To complement this solution option, a pannel board will mounted on a wall near her bed. On teh face of the board, there will be a rough outline of her house and all of the exits. If an exit/door is unlocked, that part of the panel board will light up. The purpose of this panel board is to show her whether or not a door is unlocked before she goes to bed.
