Description of our FINAL MODIFIED Product and Circuit:

In the process of designing our circuit, we decided to change our idea slightly. Rather than using IR sensors and a push button sensor, we resolved to incorporate a magnetic reed switch. The magnet will be placed on the deadbolt and the reed switch will be placed in the recess of the deadbolt. When the door is UNlocked and the magnet and recess are NOT in contact with each other, our circuit will beep for a variable amount of time and volume. When the door is LOCKED and the magnet and reed switch are in contact, power will shut off to the circuit and the beeps will cease.

The powerhouse of our circuit is one NE556N timer.
