Plan for programing cricket

At the moment i am not sure if the maze andrew and I are programing the cricket to navigate is the search and rescue one or the power out at the mall one? It's the one with the white walls and strips of black tape that are place on the wall.

Our plan for the cricket is to utalize the black stips of tape on the wall by having a light sensor on the right side of the cricket. The light sensor registers the white part of the wall with a lower value and the black strips with a higher value. The cricket will be set to make a left turn at the black tape.

The key for making the light sensor work efficiently will involve using an infrared sensor. For the light sensor to work at its best it needs to be near the wall to register the tape. the IR sensor will placed on the cricket to keep the cricket at a close enough distance for the wall.
