TEAM NO WISK NECESSARY LAB WRITEUP

Results: The final egg hunt was a success in many ways. Throughout the entire planning, coding, building, and debugging process, Chandni and I learned a lot about programming as well as time management. We learned how to pace ourselves and get things done a little bit at a time. We also learned a lot about trial and error, and that despite the hours of work, frustration, and things just not working as planned, if you keep with it and look to each other and others for help, things can be done.

In regards to the robot actually completing the egg hunt task (finding, capturing, and dropping egg into goal), things didn't work out as planned. After many hours of hard work and fiddling with the sensors, Chandni and Mr. Rhine reached the conclusion that there was something wacky with the sensors themselves that made it impossible to complete the finding the goal portion of the code. On the bright side though, after long hours of work and help from Chandni, the task that involved finding and capturing the egg was accomplished and was a success.

Lessons Learned

• Take things slowly and try to do things as simply as possible (Although we ended up using 7 out 9 sensors that we could have used)
• Always charge the robot...ALWAYS!!!
• Build sensors carefully
• Incorporate debugging codes into your program to figure out where and why something went wrong
• When in doubt, ask your partner! ;)
• We learned how to use #define to rename our ports as well as how to convert sensor readings into actual distances
• The coding process takes a lot of trial and error. You have to take it one step at a time and test as you go along. You can't just put a code together all at once and expect it to work (if you can, please give me a call!!)
