Notes on Lab & Homework grading:
- No credit for late homework.
- Late labs will be penalized 10% per day including weekend days.
- Make sure your lab write-ups include all required parts (e.g., diagrams, data, etc. as requested)
- Please do not submit labs/homeworks by email unless I ask you to do so--follow submission instructions (wiki vs. paper. vs. email).
- Make sure your name and the date are on each page. Print and staple pages together at HOME -- do not ask to print or staple during class on the day that it is due.
- When are completing a reading assignment, be sure to take notes and put them in your notebook. Your notes should capture the key concepts/terminology so that you can simply review your notes to prepare for a quiz or test. Don't go overboard with "notes;" copying down an entire chapter is overkill!
- When submitting program files via email to Jim for grading...
- Only use this submission method if directed in the assignment.
- Only submit via email if you are sure your assignment works.
- Submit your main.c file as a text file attachment with this naming format: lastname_assignment.txt
- Incorrect submissions will be ignored!

- Discuss the CricketBot challenge with your partner and develop a strategy to solve the task and create a team wiki page to document your strategy. As your strategy changes, you should revise your wiki.
- Be sure to use an appropriate name for your wiki page and make sure you create it in the Student group (e.g. [[Team Freedom’s Power Out at the Mall Strategy->Student.SallyFredLab1Strategy]] ). Be sure to include links to this page in a logical, easy-to-find location on each partner’s personal wiki.
- Homework 1 ( Due September 8/9) (comments)
- Create an organized 3-ring binder for Interactive Robotics (see Rhine for free dividers)
- Print out a copy of the course syllabus Δ, read it, and put it in the front of your binder
- Read Mataric Chapters 1 - 5, take notes and put them in the "notes" section of your binder
- Go to the Robotics Exploration wiki page and read through it before next class. Choose a partner to work on Lab 1--if you have experience with the Cricket, make sure you pair up with someone who has none.
