LewisHello EveryoneMy name is Sumudu Lewis ALL ABOUT ME I was born in Sri Lanka and grew up in England - a beautiful place where the sun never shines! I have travelled nearly all around England but I prefer the South coast where the beaches have never seen any sand. I did my undergraduate studies at The University of Brighton http://www.brighton.ac.uk/ and graduated with a BSc in Biology and Chemistry (Combined Sciences). Then I wanted to go and make loads of money! But was offered the opportunity to study for a PhD in Chemistry at The University of Sussex http://www.sussex.ac.uk/ so I decided to go for it! THEN, I wanted to go and make loads of money! But I was offered to follow a Postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Bangor http://www.bangor.ac.uk/home/2006/index.php.en?&width=1280&height=1024. I went there because I fell in love with the Welsh countryside and the mountains. After all this I still wanted to go and make loads of money, but it was not meant to be ..... I chose teaching! So I ventured into my teaching career to teach Secondary School science. In England, Secondary School takes students between the ages of 11 and 19! My first job was really nice - it was afterall a school in the sout coast of England. However, it was too nice. I wanted a bit more of a challenge and I packed my bags and went to live and work in London where the streets are paved with gold ....? You believe that you'll believe anything! London schools were uhmm ... "Interesting" But I loved the challenge. So how did I end up in the USA? My husband likes driving on the right hand side of the road! And now here is a picture of someone called Sumudu - I used to look like this before my youth and beauty ran away! |
