HarmonA little bit about me: I was born in Annapolis Maryland but have lived in Westford Massachusetts since I was 3. I graduated from Westford Academy in 2005 and proceeded to go to Rochester Institute of Technology for electrical engineering for 2 years. I transferred to UMass Lowell to finish my undergraduate electrical engineering degree last spring, and was the TA for TEAMS Academy's first year assistive technology program. I was a teaching assistant to the Electronics and Music session at UMass Lowell's Designcamp every summer from 2002 to 2006, and again in 2008. In the summer of 2007 I worked at MIT Haystack Observatory determining optimum circuit board layout and designing firmware control for a wideband superheterodyne UHF satellite receiver to be used for Ionospheric Science. I currently work for the UMass Lowell computer science robotics lab designing a control system for an assistive technology related robotic arm being designed by a mechanical engineering graduate student. Electrical engineering has been a hobby of mine since I was about 10 years old, I learned from "200 in 1" kits and Radio Shack books and have constructed various projects over the years, my favorite of which is an autonomous obstacle-avoiding robot with infrared vision (shown below). Music is also a big part of my life, I play guitar and bass. ![]() Lab Setup InfoLaser Cutter |
