About Me:

I grew up in Lynn, MA and graduated from Lynn Classical High School. After high school, I went to Merrimack College and majored in Business Administration/Marketing and decided to go the co-op route to help pay for college. While this was not always the most fun part of college, it did help me earn some money AND I had a great resume when I graduated!

My first job out of school was at Addison Wesley Publishing (now Pearson Education), a higher ed textbook publisher. (More about textbooks shortly….) When I left there about 7 years ago, I was a Sales Manager and managed 10 sales reps. After I left AW, I worked on my own doing freelance marketing, writing resumes, and selling some of my photography. All fun stuff, but working from home did get old so here I am at TEAMS as a Project Manager. I was thrilled to be able to keep working in an education-related field. TEAMS is an amazing program and any student who gets accepted should be really proud of this great opportunity. I know it’s not always easy to go against the norm, but your TEAMS experience will definitely give you an edge over your peers.

On a more personal level, I am married and have two boys (12 and 14) who both play hockey so, yes, I do spend lots of time at hockey rinks, and no, I am not a pit bull with lipstick. (But I do have a cute little Boston Terrier named Max! Another pic) My two favorite things to do in my spare time are mountain bike and take pictures. I have tried taking pictures while I bike, but that doesn’t always work out so well!

A quick note about textbooks…. Make sure you take advantage of all of the resources that are available with your books. Books are expensive because of the supplements and technology materials that publishers make available with them. So take a minute to read the preface and list of supplements in your books. If there is a website available with the book, check it out. You might be amazed at what support is available with your book. If there is a study guide or other printed supplement, ask your teacher or go online to get a copy if you need extra help. When you go to college, make sure you buy your books. Many college texts are also available as e-books (example), a less expensive option. Here is one more resource for you.

Drop by any time if you need anything….I share the “janitor’s closet” with Mr. Rhine!
