The Action Blocks & What they Do

Back to main page

Here's a description of some of the more useful action blocks...

on Turns on motor A, motor B, or both motors at once (to a default power level of 4)

off Turns off motor A, motor B, or both motors at once

reverse Reverses direction of motor A, motor B, or both motors at once

setpower Sets power of motor from 1 (slowest) to 8 (fastest)

onfor Turns one or both motors on for a certain period of time, then shuts off again. Time is given in 1/10 second increments (so 2 seconds is 20)

beep Makes the cricket beep

note Makes the cricket play a note

wait Causes the cricket to wait before moving on to the next command. Time is (again) in 1/10 second increments.

Here's an example!

This Logo Block program will...

  • Turn both motors on
  • Wait for ten tenths of a second (1 second) before next command
  • Increase speed of both motors
  • Wait for 2 seconds before next command
  • Reverse direction of motor A
  • Wait for one second
  • Turn both motors off
  • Play a note
