Mr. Jumper I'm still confused about how to do the last problem on excel. Are we supposed to use integral formulas in excel since the density is changing? If we are, I cannot find the integral formula on the side bar. Also I seem to not be getting the correct numbers. Could we go over this in class please? ~Lisa Pinals

Lisa, the EXCEL homework problem is to be a 'finite element' solution, the example (second worksheet) that is posted on the Lecture note page is very close to what you should end up with. And yes, we will be going over this in class, as this homework problem was intended to be essentially your first bat design model which we will be extending during the next several weeks. Dr. J
