BatComparisonDataCommentsApril 14 7PM: Corrections noted in dark green background. Also noted are bats with dark grey background, MOIs are inconsistant with physics, Shell MOI (S-MOI) should be least, jumping up considerably when an endcap is added, remember we're adding roughly 3 onces out at 24 inches from the six inch point form the handle-end, which should add about 1700 units to the MOI (I-MOI), then we add about 2 onces at 6 inches, which should add only another 70 to 100 units to the MOI (F-MOI). All identified bat groups please check your MOI data. Bill Jumper Group A's Final MOI was copied down wrong on the summary sheet. It was posted that the I MOI and the F MOI were the same at 2938.44 when in fact the FMOI is 3005.21. Casey April 15, Group A Final MOI updated (blue background) as per above input. Bill Jumper April 17, Group C has found the problem with their MOI data and corrected it, C Bat looks good for testing, in fact it looks like the best. Group E's Bat data also looks good, and is also recommended for testing models. Group A's data is looking good for MOI but is unfortunately missing density and thickness data (no fault of Group A). Group F's data looks consistent but the MOIs are coming in higher than various models predict by several thousand units, quite a bit, so until this is understood suggest the testing order is C, E (both background green rows), then A with some guessing at the missing data using the other data as a clue, and then running F (both A and F light green row background), seeing if you can help solve the puzzle on F. Bats B, D & G still have inconsistent MOIs (dark backgrounds). Bill Jumper April 19, Group D MOI updates, yellow background, these numbers look very good, agree well with analytical calculations and are recommended for finite model development and testing. Bill Jumper Dr Jumper, I don't know what all your abbreviations stand for, especially in the large table. Is there any way that you could add a key or something? ~Annelise May 3 - Annelise, Sorry for not catching your note sooner, I've added a list of abbreviation meanings at the bottom of the first spreadsheet.
