GroupTwoGroupTwo_________________________________ website that isnt on the web: websiteslideshow.ppt Apache with PHP and MySQL. Dropped the blog - blog was storing entries in MySQL, now using straight MySQL with no middle man! Trial website, not very functional. Allows adding names, adding courses, and lookups by name. Will be adding more functionality to descriptions and student notes for next week. __________________________________ Our concept is an easy to use tool that records a student's curriculum. This tool could be used in both K-12 and university settings. When a student starts a class, the syllabus for that class is added to the blog. The student's achievements in those areas are recorded with the final grade for the class. This information is searchable by the student, faculty, administration, and outside reviewers. It does not interfere with the existing grade recording and storing methods and can be accessed with a web browser making it easy to adopt. How is this useful?
Motivated students can use this to find weaknesses and focus efforts to improve.
Faculty and administration can review the information to see what a course is successfully teaching, where improvements are needed, and where a new spin-off class might be necessary.
Faculty can review student aptitude in prerequisite classes. This prevents course overlap, allowing more time for new material and highlights key material that needs to be reviewed before new concepts are introduced.
Supplies additional information to reviewers, and is a tool for making internal improvement in preparation for upcoming review.
