People

The UMass Lowell team is:

  • Fred Martin — Fred is an assistant professor in the Computer Science department at UMass Lowell, and is the co-developer of the Super Cricket technology we're using in the project.
  • Doug Prime — Doug is the founder of the successful UMass Lowell DESIGNCAMP summer engineering camp, and is leading the development of our TechCreation curriculum.
  • Michelle Scribner-MacLean — Michelle is an assistant clinical professor at the UMass Lowell Graduate School of Education, and is working with the project team to develop its learning assessment frameworks.
  • Phyllis Procter — Phyllis is our Director of Community Projects in the Computer Science department.
  • Ellen Savage — Ellen is a teacher at the Stoklosa Middle School, and is teaching our Spring 2007 TechCreation program at Girls Inc.
  • Ted Corea — Ted is a teacher at the Daley Middle School, and is teaching our Spring 2007 TechCreation program there.
  • Michael Penta — Michael has a B.S. in computer science, and is working with Doug and Fred on technology and curriculum development.
  • Blake Skinner — Blake is a computer science graduate student, and is working on core technology for the iCODE system.
  • Bonnie Joyce Tacheron — Bonnie is a Civil Engineering undergraduate, and is assisting Ellen with the Girls Inc. program.
  • Ryan Tucker — Ryan is a Computer Science Graduate student, and is assisting Ted at the Daley School. He also works with Michael and Fred developing curriculum.
  • Joel Michel — Joel is a Computer Science Graduate student, and is working with Blake on iCODE core technology.

The Machine Science team is:

  • Sam Christy — Sam is the co-founder and Executive Director of Machine Science. He is managing the development of the iCODE online technology and the overall operation of the program within Machine Science.
  • Ivan Rudnicki — Ivan is overseeing the production of the project guides, instructional design challenges, and supporting materials.
  • Emily Lin — Emily is Machine Science's program manager, and is responsible for managing the project’s relationships with program sites, program leaders, and undergraduate mentors.
  • Erica Wilson — Erica teaches physics and engineering at the Engineering School in Hyde Park and is the leader for the iCODE program there.
  • Michael Sullivan — Mike is the Director of Science and Technology at the John D. O'Bryant School of Math and Science in Roxbury and coordinates the JDOB iCODE program.
  • Teresa Marx — Teresa is the iCODE program leader at Excel High School in South Boston. She teaches chemistry and engineering and is also co-advisor of the Excel Robotics Team.
  • Rebecca Payne — Rebecca is a first-year undergraduate studying engineering at Northeastern University. She is working with students at the Engineering School.
  • Stephen Oglesby — Stephen is an undergraduate at MIT and has been working with O'Bryant students since October 2006.
  • Ognjen Ilic — Ognjen is a sophomore at Harvard, concentrating in physics and math. He is the mentor for the iCODE program at Excel High School.
