Triskit

Triskit: A Software-Generated Construction Toy System for Laser Cutters

Triskit is a modular construction toy system designed to be outputted from acrylic sheet stock on small laser cutters. Even the best commercially construction toys (e.g., LEGO; K’nex) are limited in that users have access to only the parts provided by the manufacturer. Our motivation was to design a construction system that comes with software for easily generating itself. The Triskit system is the result.

Triskits are generated by a web-based Java program. Here is a paper about the Triskit project.
