This page shows example results from MOSS, Stanford’s “Measure of Software Similarity” tool.

  • The first three lines show that student10, student11, and student12 copied significant portions of their code from online solutions.
  • The fourth line shows that student11 and student12 submitted solutions with similar portions. In their case, it's because they both copied from the same online solution.

    But also, this demonstrates that if you share your code with a classmate (or if two of you work together on a solution), this will be flagged by MOSS.
