MOSSExample

Home Assignments Lecture Blog Resources Project Discussion Group

This page shows example results from MOSS, Stanford’s “Measure of Software Similarity” tool.

  • The first screenshot shows that student10 copied from an online solution.
  • The second shows that student11 and student12 submitted solutions with similar portions. (In their case, it's because they both copied from the same online solution.)

These example demonstrate that if you share your code with a classmate (or if two of you work together on a solution), this will be flagged by MOSS—even if you rename variables.

Please do not copy code from the web, or share code with each other.
