Personnel - Undergraduate Students
Alos is a Biology major with an option in Bioinformatics. He is currently involved in bioinformatics research that involves visualizing statistical data extracted from Drosophila genomes. His previous work involved designing algorithms that represent similarities between different Drosophila genomes.
Curran is a Computer Science major with an option in Bioinformatics. He has worked at the Center for Biomolecular & Medical Informatics since the summer of 2005 focusing on user session history analysis and is currently working on developing novel text mining tools.
Ekaterina is majoring in Biology with an option in Bioinformatics. She has been working on the Avon Breast Cancer Project using data from Massachusetts General Hospital. She has performed statistical analysis on a number of breast cancer risk factors and is working on a decision tree that will help the clinician to better determine the patient's risk of developing breast cancer.
Loura is majoring in Mathematics with an option in Bioinformatics and minoring in Computer Science. She took part in the Summer Opportunities in Science Program for incoming freshman and is currently using biostatistical techniques for epidemiology to analyze the Avon Breast Cancer research dataset.
